Digest = me + a possible glass of wine + reflection the previous weeks ongoings and a glimpse into future happenings. You're Welcome.
Autumn rituals, new rhythms & an invitation to paradise
This weekend was all things autumnal. Long hours in the studio were the crown jewel, brush in hand, paintings finding their way into being. There’s a particular kind of magic when multiple pieces come together at once, and the studio has been humming with it.
Saturday night brought a fall dinner party with friends. It was balmy, 77 degrees with full humidity, which made the roasted acorn squash, apple crisp, and nearly a hundred pumpkins dotting the house feel deliciously out of sync with the weather. A reminder that sometimes atmosphere is created, not found.
On Friday, a quiet lunch with my sister offered a sweet interlude. She helped me bring a bit of order back to the gallery as I pull it apart in anticipation of my next show, Lost In Paradise, opening this coming weekend.
Vault Sale: Last Call
As the season shifts, so does the gallery. The Vault Sale is coming to a close, and I want to thank everyone who’s helped clear space on my walls, and hopefully brought a little light into your own. There are still a number of works available before they head to storage; complimentary shipping ends tonight - use code SUMMER50 at checkout for 50% off this collection of work.
A New Substack Rhythm
After much… let’s call it “feedback,” I’ve simplified my Substack subscription to make it easier to join in. I’ve also added an audio element, a way to listen while scrolling through imagery if reading isn’t in the cards that day. I love reading, but I know that sometimes, especially with long-form pieces, audio makes all the difference. Consider this a preview of what’s to come: a podcast is quietly taking shape behind the scenes.
Subscriptions are now $6/month or $60/year, with a founder’s tier for those who want to support more deeply. If you’ve been meaning to join, now’s the perfect moment.
An Invitation
I hope you’ll join me on Saturday, October 4, 6–8pm at the gallery for Lost In Paradise, a transportive installation that marks a new chapter in my work.
This show grew out of my love of travel, collecting, and the imagined spaces we build when memories and myth intertwine. Expect painterly worlds and objects that feel as though they’ve been discovered on a far-off holiday. It’s part Grand Tour, part collector’s hideaway and one hundred percent all daydream. I can’t wait to share it with you. I do hope you will come see it in person, but if you can't, there will be plenty to see online too!
A curated selection of pieces, places, and textures that have been inspiring me this month, think of it as a mini moodboard to ease into the week.
Live your most extraordinary life as soon as possible.
Happy weekend from our family to yours!
XO Kristen
