Abstract Florals
18"H × 16"W
Mixed media on canvas
From the private collection of Kristen Coates
There is an immediacy to this painting that first drew me to it nearly a decade ago. The bouquet feels less arranged than remembered, emerging through expressive layers of color, gesture, and movement. Flowers appear, dissolve, and return again, allowing the painting to exist somewhere between still life and abstraction.
I've lived with this work for years, always intending to find the perfect place for it. Somehow it never quite landed. Looking back, I think it was simply waiting for the right collector.
One of the joys of collecting is recognizing when a piece has completed its time with you and is ready to begin a new chapter somewhere else.
