Immaculate Part I, 2026
By Kristen Coates
48”H x 48”W
Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas
Signed and titled on reverse
Immaculate Part I is built through layered blues and mineral greens, punctuated by sweeping white arcs that move with both urgency and control. The gestures feel immediate, yet the structure beneath them is deliberate, proportion and repetition holding the composition in tension.
This piece marked a turning point in the studio. The marks carry a different confidence, less negotiated, more decisive. What began as exploration resolved into clarity.
At 48 inches square, it has architectural presence. Installed alone, it anchors a room with depth and movement; installed as part of a pair with Immaculate Part II, it establishes a visual rhythm that expands across the wall.
