Vintage Haeger Ceramic Bowl
3.5”H x 7.75”W
Artist Signature: Haeger, USA
A richly glazed ceramic bowl in a deep plum tone with a beautifully ribbed exterior that creates movement and texture across the surface. This is the kind of piece I reach for constantly when styling interiors because it serves so many purposes. It can live on a coffee table, kitchen island, console, bedside table, or dining table and instantly creates a feeling of intention.
I especially love it layered with collected objects, fruit, shells, or simply left empty and appreciated for its form. The combination of the sculptural shape and luminous glaze makes it feel both practical and decorative, a hallmark of the best vintage ceramics.
Forgotten Island is a project dedicated to sourcing objects of character and bringing them back into the spotlight for a second chance at becoming someone's most treasured possession. I am drawn to pieces that have lived a life before arriving here, objects with beauty, history, and presence that deserve to continue their story in a new home.
This piece was made by Haeger Potteries, an American ceramics company founded in 1851 along the banks of the Fox River in Illinois. For nearly 145 years, Haeger produced distinctive pottery that became a staple of American homes before closing in 2016. Today, their work has become increasingly collectible, particularly the more sculptural and richly glazed forms.
These are exactly the types of pieces I find difficult to part with and would happily keep in my own home.
