This photographer captures more than a moment, he captures an era. I discovered Quang Le's work years ago at a gallery in California dedicated to an emerging group of contemporary photographers. His images immediately stood apart. There is an intimacy to them that feels almost accidental, as though you've stumbled into someone else's memory.

Ice Creams is one of those photographs. Equal parts playful and nostalgic, it recalls the effortless joy of long summer nights, melting ice cream, and friendships that felt endless. It has the unmistakable atmosphere of the early 2000s, warm, cinematic, imperfect, and deeply human.

This piece has remained in my personal collection for years because it always makes me smile. The photograph shows gentle evidence of its own history. In a few small areas, the glazing has lightly adhered to the print over time, creating subtle marks that are visible upon close inspection. Rather than diminishing the work, I have always felt these traces contribute to its sense of age and authenticity. They are reflected in the auction estimate and have been fully disclosed for collectors.
