A Moment In The Sun is a celebration of warmth, light, and the fleeting brilliance of late afternoon. Saturated ochres, corals, and terracottas move across the canvas in broad, confident gestures, balanced by passages of soft white and punctuated with bold charcoal lines that feel almost calligraphic.
Although entirely abstract, the painting carries the emotional memory of sunlight rather than a literal landscape. It recalls the glow of coastal evenings, warm stone underfoot, and the way color lingers just before dusk. The composition shifts between openness and density, allowing the eye to move freely while discovering new relationships with every glance.
This work marks an evolution within my current body of paintings. The palette is richer, the forms more distilled, and the confidence of each gesture allows color itself to become the subject.
At 30 by 40 inches, it has enough presence to anchor a room while remaining remarkably versatile. It brings warmth to contemporary interiors and feels equally at home alongside collected antiques or modern furnishings.
