Description

This Way and That is a painting about movement without urgency, a total meditation in color.

Layered passages of blue, teal, and soft white drift across the canvas in sweeping gestures that feel both instinctive and composed. Rather than describing a specific landscape, the painting suggests the experience of one, the shifting surface of water, changing skies, and the quiet rhythm of moving forward without needing to know exactly where you're headed.

There is no fixed horizon and no single point demanding attention. Instead, each mark gently leads to the next, creating a composition that unfolds over time. Deep indigos anchor the painting while lighter passages open space for reflection, allowing the eye to wander and settle naturally.
