Description

This original cocktail napkin drawing was given to me personally by artist Robert Greenberg in 2017. Greenberg became known for his wonderfully irreverent alligator drawings, often created spontaneously on cocktail napkins during conversations, dinners, and gatherings. Each one carries the immediacy and humor of the moment in which it was made.

I've lived with this piece since the day it was given to me. Rather than hiding the napkin away, I had it preserved in a shadow box, transforming an ephemeral sketch into a small work of art with real presence.

What I love most is that it reminds me that great art doesn't always begin on a canvas. Sometimes it begins over a drink, on a paper napkin, with nothing more than a good idea and the willingness to draw it.
