Beach and Brush distills the landscape into its essential lines, horizon, light, and a sweep of color moving across sand and sky. Ochre and muted coral sit beneath broad passes of gray and charcoal, allowing warmth to flicker through restraint.
The marks are direct and uncorrected, almost dragged into place. There’s very little added, just enough to suggest distance and depth without overworking it.
At 8 by 10 inches, it reads like a study, but it carries the weight of something larger. Especially compelling in a layered installation or placed where subtle shifts in tone can be appreciated up close.
