Photographed from above, Gooseberry Boats transforms an ordinary summer scene into an abstract composition of color, rhythm, and geometry. Brightly colored kayaks and paddleboards rest quietly on the sand, their arrangement creating an almost painterly composition that reveals itself only from this elevated perspective.

Michael J. Paddon's aerial photography has always been less about documenting a place than discovering unexpected patterns within it. Here, the familiar landscape of Gooseberry Beach becomes a study in repetition, color, and the quiet rituals of a Rhode Island summer.
