Description

Confetti Gooseberry Beach brings together two of my favorite visual languages: the joyful rhythm of my Confetti series and the unmistakable colors of a New England summer by the sea.

Beneath hundreds of hand-painted confetti marks lies an abstract landscape inspired by Gooseberry Beach in Newport. Soft passages of pink, cobalt, pale blue, white, and golden yellow drift through the composition like sunlight reflecting across the shoreline. Rather than concealing the painting beneath, the confetti creates another layer of atmosphere, transforming the landscape into something remembered rather than simply seen.

The result is a painting that rewards close viewing. From across the room it reads as an energetic field of color and movement. Up close, the individual marks become meditative, each square painted by hand, creating a rhythm that feels both spontaneous and carefully composed.

Part celebration, part landscape, and part memory, Confetti Gooseberry Beach captures the feeling of a perfect summer afternoon when everything seems suspended in light.
