I have always believed that the best souvenirs are the ones that quietly become part of your life.
This olive oil began on the Sorrentine Peninsula, a place I return to again and again for its extraordinary light, landscape, food, and particular approach to living well. Made in collaboration with Gargiulo, Syrenum is an extra virgin olive oil from the Penisola Sorrentina, cold extracted and presented in a one-liter tin with an original label created from my artwork.
I wanted the packaging to feel less like something destined for the pantry and more like an object brought home from a beautiful trip, the kind of thing you leave on the kitchen counter because you actually want to look at it.
And that is exactly how I use it. Mornings started with a few tablespoons with fresh squeezed lemon juice. Poured generously over tomatoes and good bread, whisked into a simple dressing, finished over vegetables, or placed directly on the table when friends come for dinner. It is not precious olive oil meant to be saved. It is beautiful olive oil meant to become part of the daily ritual.
For me, Syrenum captures so much of what Italo Disco is about: bringing something of Italy home with you, living with it, using it, and allowing an ordinary moment to feel just a little more on holiday.
