Description

Some paintings are created to be sold. Others quietly become part of your own story. Solstice has lived in my home since the day it was painted in 2021. Michael and I fell in love with it before the paint had even dried, and it has remained with us ever since, a daily reminder of warmth, optimism, and the quiet luxury of light.

Inspired less by a specific landscape than by the feeling of the coast, the painting evokes long summer days without ever becoming literal. A luminous golden form floats against soft washes of white and pale blue, suggesting the sun, the horizon, architecture, and memory all at once. It is joyful, peaceful, and open to interpretation.

I have always imagined Solstice in a home filled with natural light, over a fireplace, in a dining room, or welcoming guests in a gracious entry. It has a quiet confidence that doesn't demand attention but rewards it, revealing new rhythms and relationships each time you live alongside it.

Offered from my personal collection as part of the The Treasure Auction, this is one of the paintings that has been hardest for me to let go.
