Waves continues an exploration within my larger-scale works, where layering, movement, and revision become part of the final composition. Rather than building the surface in a linear way, I moved both forward and backward, adding color, then pulling it away, allowing moments of negative space to re-emerge while also exploring relationships between colors.
What remains is a composition that feels discovered rather than constructed. Each passage reveals something new, a shift in color, a hidden edge, a conversation between bold gestures and softer, atmospheric layers.
There is a sense of constant movement here, but also curiosity. The painting never settles into a single read, instead inviting the eye to move through it, to find new relationships each time it’s viewed. It reflects the experience of making it, intuitive, evolving, and full of small revelations along the way.
