Digest = me + a possible glass of wine + reflection the previous weeks ongoings and a glimpse into future happenings. You're Welcome.
July bliss is a warm evening around the dinner table with family and friends. If you've been here a while, you've heard my take that an invitation to a dinner party at home is truly the most exclusive invitation one can receive. A table setting is very much a love letter to each and every guest. And although I can't have all of you at my dinner table, I'd love to share my entertaining secrets, inspiration for the finest details, and even my dinnerware with you. This week we're releasing The Art of The Dinner Party, a collection celebrating one of my favorite things next to painting and curating. Get everything you need to host an exquisite dinner party delivered to your doorstep, download details about how I'm hosting in Newport and during my travels, or find new pieces for the perfect tablescape. If you want to be the first to hear about this, RSVP here and I'll send you a note this week.
It's truly summertime here in Newport with a little of this, a little of that, and a whole lot of happy art, sweet dinners, lazy beach days, and even some painting. You'll find it all here with new pieces from Michael and Forgotten Island too. I love when we're flush with great work. I've been at the gallery nearly every day, and it's been wonderful catching up with so many of you, thank you for that!
I'll be fine once I get here, one of my most popular paintings in my Series of Unusual Colors (and now on a hat too!), was inspired by that feeling that washes over you as you walk into your vacation home or hotel room, a real sense that anything is possible, mixed with a magical blend of relaxation and excitement. It's no secret I'm wildly in love with travel, but perhaps less known is how much I love planning trips almost as much as being on one. I'm filled with that magical feeling that anything really is possible. But one of my greatest joys is sharing stories of my travels through paintings, blog posts, newsletters you're familiar with, and coming this week, digital city guides of some of my favorite places on earth. Keep an eye on your inbox for this one, it’s almost too good to be true.
And a final note this week, I'm mixing things up with our newsletters. I plan to keep content focused on art and my life through the lens of my gallery here on my website Journal, as I always have. My Substack will lean more toward complimentary travel details and living an extraordinary life as soon as possible- a little less gallery and a bit more lifestyle, like this post about The Art of The Escape… without ever running away. It warms my heart to see new subscribers checking in, and the paid subscriptions keep me writing and sharing what's happening in my corner of the world.
Happy weekend from our family to yours! XO Kristen

If you’re enjoying these notes, I’d love for you to share them. Forward this to a friend who might like to follow along. Expanding this circle through friends of friends is my favorite kind of growth.
