A few of years ago, my dear friend MaryLou told me how much she loved being married to her wife, Robyn. It really stuck with me because seeing them together is to know what a beloved union looks like. I thought “Michael and I have that”. Being married isn’t more than what we’ve had for 10 years together. But as usual, MaryLou was right. I love being married to Michael. I am certain I will share more wedding details in the days and weeks to come, but for the moment I’m savoring every last bit of wedding bliss for me and my beloved.
On Friday we attended the Boys and Girls Club Newport Yacht Hop, an annual tradition for our family and the weather really held out for this one. If you’re not familiar with BGC Newport, I highly recommend learning what they do for so many kids and families here on island. Congratulations to all involved in making the evening such a spectacular success.
We’re officially in the sweet spot of summer just swimming past the Solstice and looking ahead to Fourth of July and beyond. The shop is glowing and I’ve been finding moments in the gallery to work on a few projects. I’ve been quietly launching something behind the scenes for a long time, On Holiday, a traveling creative residency and immersive experience series. I am delighted to share some upcoming collaborations with properties in the US, Italy and France this summer and fall. Think curated, artist’s table dinner parties, painting sessions on site and local art tours all with the creative traveler in mind. I've been so excited about this project that I've been painting little seascapes and sardines I'll drop in a collection later in the week. I have a feeling you're going to love them all as much as I do... they are F-U-N!
Speaking of travel, there are so many newly printed and framed pieces of Michael’s work, the gallery is giving European holiday. There are a couple of framed pieces from Forgotten Island that are now on display along with two new abstract paintings of mine too.
Happy weekend from our family to yours! XO Kristen
