A deep navy ground holds the composition steady while saturated yellow gestures cut across the surface with unapologetic force. Pale blue arcs and loose white splatters introduce movement, like something happening just beyond the frame. A thin painted border quietly contains the action, creating tension between structure and spontaneity. The composition lives along the edge, intentionally off-center, allowing negative space to do as much work as the marks themselves.
Part of the ongoing Party On The Side exploration, this piece revisits a familiar gesture in a more nocturnal register, sharper contrast, deeper ground, heightened restraint. At 20 by 16 inches, it carries surprising weight. Strong on its own. Potential for layering into a larger story.
