Digest = me + a possible glass of wine + reflection the previous weeks ongoings and a glimpse into future happenings. You're Welcome.
Sunshine, projects, possibility, it has truly been the perfect Sunday reflecting on the last week, not rushing into anything. Painting, coffee, gallery, home, garden, nap, Digest. It's been a very good day. I know it’s been a bit chilly and so, so grey, but inside the gallery, it’s officially summer.
The Summer Shop is open, and it’s glowing. Picnic baskets, $5 Forgotten Island glassware and artful treasures for days in the sun… it’s all arriving daily, and I cannot wait to share it with you. A lot of this won't be listed online so follow IG to shop stories or even better, pop in the gallery to see it all in person!
Let’s celebrate.
Join me this Saturday, June 7, 12–5pm, for an afternoon of spritzes and summer things—art, objects, and pieces made by me and a handful of my favorite designers. Newport friends, you won’t want to miss this one. I'll send an invite this week, but mark your calendars if you're in town this coming weekend!
And… a soft launch I’m already in love with: today we released the first pieces from An Unusual Lifestyle- hats and sweatshirts that carry the same spirit as A Series of Unusual Colors. I didn’t expect how much joy these little pieces would bring me- but you’re loving them too (thank you!). Here’s the collection Use code FRESH for complimentary shipping.
This weekend I quietly published the new kristencoates.com. It finally feels like an extension of the gallery. There’s more to do (of course), but I’ve realized waiting for things to feel perfect holds me back from growth. I’m leaning into presence is better than perfect energy, and it’s shifting everything.
There’s more on the horizon- new artwork, experiences, a special summer print and candle drop, and a few meaningful 1:1 offerings I can’t wait to share. The plan to scale my business and expand creatively is coming together in the most grounded, vibrant way.
We had dinner at Flora at Gardiner House this week—certainly not for the first time, but it felt like they’ve really hit their stride. The food, the atmosphere, the view… Newport is lucky to have it. If you’re visiting soon, add it to your list.
Here’s to sunshine, even if it’s the kind we make ourselves.
Happy weekend from our family to yours!
XO Kristen

If you’re enjoying these notes, I’d love for you to share them. Forward this to a friend who might like to follow along. Expanding this circle through friends of friends is my favorite kind of growth.
