Here is something you might not know about me. I love Sundays in the gallery. I don’t always open, but when I do I simply love the wandering conversations.
This last week was spent with family in Harbor Springs, Michigan, and it did not disappoint. Lake swimming and tons of eating and farmer’s markets and vintage shops. It was like one long happy weekend. I did not bring back too much with me but I do have some exciting news this week - our next live auction is Thursday evening on Instagram Live and then in stories to follow through the week. I’m so excited for this one! I hope you will check in and find something you love.
Thank you so, so much to everyone indulging in The Dinner Party Download. I had no idea how much I would love this project until I started getting your feedback… so cool. The response to this concept has inspired some new things coming to the gallery this fall including Studio Hours, a creative co-working weekly zoom and The Coates Residence Art Library… think of it as an ever evolving collection of work you can take on loan or try for a while deciding if it's a forever piece for you, or even swap for something when the mood, or even your location shifts. I’ve been dreaming up a big show in September, but more on that soon. For now, I’m heading to The Elms for a Gilded Age dinner party - I think it’s meant to be a picnic, but we have no chill in this family and Michael has been cooking all day, I have to have a table that holds up to it!
Oh!! One more thing, I haven’t been able to get to all of them to edit the options (send me a note if you need one adjusted), but I am now offering A Series of Unusual unframed ($245) as well as framed ($345) because these times, they are a changing and I want to change now too - and for everyone to have more original art! I've had a lot of fun making so many new colors that pair well with the old ones too.

Haha, another thing - there's new artwork up online and in the gallery too. This is Confetti Delightful and I think it's one of my favorite pieces I've ever painted!
